The St John’s Parish Prayer 2025
You may wish to use this prayer daily as part of your rhythm of prayer.
Stir up, O Lord, the wills of your faithful people here at St John’s. As we seek to do your will, gives us ears to hear, eyes to see, wills to obey and hearts to love. Amen.

We pray every day at 9.30am Monday to Friday for the life of the Parish. Everyone is welcome to join us.

Welcome to our St John’s Prayer Diary for November 2025 with a prayer intention for every day of the month. As it is Kingdom Season in the life of the church, we thought we would focus our prayers this month on Justice.
October
26.   Bible Sunday today, and for reading our Bible more often.
27.   For the worship at the Cathedral and Abbey Church of St Alban.
28.   Simon and Jude, Apostles. Why not find out about them?
29.   For our new worship committee taking form and new members.
30.   Giving thanks for Martin Luther and his courage.
31.   To find ways to worship God with other Christians in Harpenden.
November
1.    All Souls’, as we remember our departed loved ones.
2.    All Saints’ Sunday, giving thanks for all the saints, known and unknown.
3.    Justice in our time and that we might become a more just society, especially for the voiceless and the poorest.
4.    For Little Acorns, Baby and Toddler groups celebrating 4 years of serving the community.
5.    For the Justice Ministry in His Majesty Government.
6.    Remembering St Leonard – patron saint, of amongst other things, political prisoners, imprisoned people, prisoners of war and captives.
7.    For the creation of laws which are just and fair, and especially all those in elected positions of authority.
8.    Saints and Martyrs of England – why not find a saint and martyr of England and learn about them?
9.    Remembrance Sunday, for all those who gave their lives in War for our freedom.
10.    Probation Service and their work amongst those who have been in prison.
11.    Martin of Tour, and his service to the poor.
12.    For the Work of the United Nations
13.    Remembering Samuel Seabury, and praying for justice in the wider church, especially the role of the church in America.
14.    The birthday of King Charles III, praying for the Royal Family.
15.    For all the Supreme Courts in this and other countries.
16.    For the European Court of Human Rights and all who work in Human Rights.
17.    Remembering St Hugh of Lincoln and the role of the church in speaking truth to power and authority.
18.    Remembering Elizabeth of Hungary who used her wealth to build a hospital and to serve the sick. 
19.    For St Hilda, and her role in reconciling different parts of the church.
20.    St Edmund, on his martyrdom, praying for all those killed for their faith.
21.    For all those who work in the Court of Appeal, the High Court, the Crown Court, the County Court, and the magistrates' courts.
22.    For Ritah and her family as we prepare to say our farewells.
23.    For Christ the King of the Universe. The last Sunday of the Church year. 
24.    For Judges, Magistrates, and all who administer justice.
25.    Praying for Justice for immigrants.
26.    Praying for those who face miscarriages of justice. 
27.    Pray that I might act justly, love mercy, walk humbly.
28.    For Justice in the Middle East, to both Palestinians and Israelis. 
29.    For Justice for the victims of all wars. 
30.    Advent Sunday, praying for hope in the darkness.
