How St John's fits into the Church of England

Church of EnglandSt John’s (technically St John the Baptist) is a Church of England church.

Our Parish is the south of Harpenden - but you will be welcome whether or not you live in the Parish - you should choose your Church because you like it (34% of people on the Church Roll live outside the Parish).

We fit into the overall Church of England structure as follows:

St John the Baptist

Reverend
Jonathan Smith

Wheathampstead Deanery

  Reverend Andrew Doye

St Albans Diocese

The Right Reverend
Christopher Herbert,
Bishop of St Albans

Canterbury Province

The Most Reverend
Rowan Williams,
Archbishop of Canterbury

Churches together in Harpenden (Click to visit http://www.harpendenchurches.org.uk)St John’s is a member of Churches Together in Harpenden, an affiliation of Christian churches and communities. We gather with other churches to mark special occasions – eg the Good Friday Procession of Witness, to organise events of interest to all Christians and for charities such as Christian Aid.
