St John's Church, Harpenden - Children's activities

Our activities for children are very much focused by age. They include:

Youth Group - a chance for secondary school children (year 7+) to get together on Sunday evenings during term time - for socialising and charity works.

Little Gems (for under 4s) meets every Sunday except the first Sunday of the month. On the first Sunday, we encourage the entire family to come to the service, but provide toys in the porch for you to use if you want to - and you can listen to the service.

We hold a Junior Church each Sunday (except the first Sunday of the month). Children (4+) sing, listen to stories and complete craft activities with a Christian theme.

Children are a very important part of St Johns There are special activities throughout the year such as a Good Friday morning workshop and the annual Nativity Play.

Visiting children are always welcome to join the regular groups.

All Age Eucharist
(1st Sunday of the month)

This 9.30am service is aimed at all ages with a simplified, easy to follow, Eucharist format. The teaching (or sermon) is pitched at a level intended to sustain the interest of all ages - from young children to adults.

As always all children (and non-confirmed adults) are welcome to receive a blessing at the altar during communion.

The service lasts for approximately 1 hour and is followed by the usual 'Coffee Time' in the Church hall.

The St John's Brownie Pack is the 19th Harpenden - it meets Thursdays at 6:15pm during term time.
