In 2008, St John's is 100 years old and we are holding a whole host of events for both the St John's Church family and the Parish.
| January | 27th | We launched the book 'St John the Baptist Church - a Centenary Celebration' |
| March | 2nd | Consecration Day. Our lovely church building was consecrated on March 2nd 1908. We commemorated this at the 9:30 All Age Eucharist and Mothering Sunday Service |
| June | 20th - 22nd | Flower Festival |
| June | 24th | St John the Baptist's Day. To mark the burning of the 'Paper' Church and in thanksgiving for those who initiated the new building, the Bishop of St Albans led us in procession across Harpenden Common from the site of the first church building to the present day church, where we celebrated a Patronal Festival Eucharist |
| June | 28th | Centenary Fiesta Day. A church fete took place on the Grove School playing field to share our celebrations with the people of Southdown |
| June | 29th | Songs of Praise. We held a special afternoon service for the whole Community |
| October | 4th | Bring and Share Harvest Supper with an Edwardian theme |
| November | TBA | Visit to St Alban's Abbey |
