Activities at St John's Harpenden

We have a wide range of activities at St John's....

Mothers’ Union
The Mothers Union has a varied programme of activity The MU works to promote family values and marriage whilst sharing love and fellowship with others.  There is a varied programme of activity and events including action and Outreach programmes.

Faith and Light
Faith and Light is non denominational Is a non denominational support group for people with learning difficulties that meets at 4pm on the first Sunday of each month in the Church Hall.

St Luke's Cell Prayer GroupSt Luke's Cell Prayer Group image
The St Luke's Cell Prayer Group comes together on a monthly basis (2pm, second Monday of the month in the Church Hall Committee Room) with friends from Southdown Methodist to pray for the long term sick and the oppressed.

St John's Study GroupSt John's Study Group meets regularly
Meets on the second Friday of each month (apart from August) from 7.30 pm in the Church Hall Committee Room. It has a varied programme, including book study (sometimes Biblical), ethical issues, world religions, etcetera.

House Groups
House Groups meets fortnightly Evening House Groups meet fortnightly in people's houses for worship, intercession, study and discussion.

Choir
The Choir sings a wide repetoire of music More information about our choir and other musical activities is available on our music page.

Brownies
Harpenden Brownies St John's Brownie Pack is the 19th Harpenden - it meets Thursdays at 6:15 pm during term time.

St John’s Players
St John's Players in action Our drama group - undertakes a range of humorous, serious and religious plays.

Dorcas
Dorcas does our needlework The Dorcas Group undertakes needlework and embroidery for the fabrics in St John's such as Altar Cloths.

Flower Guild
Flower Guild decorate the church Organises the flowers that beautify the Church - and also puts on displays at flower festivals and meets to learn new techniques.

Social Committee
The Social Committee helps raise funds as well as helping our social life As well as the many christian orientated and church support groups we have an active social life.
